New Nokia 5730 XpressMusic to pack N-Gage
|

We’re still waiting for Nokia to get back onboard the N-Gage train, but its range of XpressMusic handsets has been coming pretty close to a gaming revival for the beleaguered platform.

The latest addition, the 5730 XpressMusic, is a feature rich device with enough gear packed into it to give the best smartphones a run for their money - despite Nokia keeping strangely tight lipped about the whole thing.

The major physical feature of this XpressMusic handset is its slide out QWERTY keyboard, although full keyboards aren’t quite the hot feature they used to be. Still great for texting, but not quite the selling point they were only a year back.

But what the 5730’s really got going for it is in its brain pan. Along with the obvious XpressMusic functionality, it’s also got full N-Gage compatibility (including dedicated gaming buttons) and applications to directly access Ovi, Facebook and a host of other systems.

These XpressMusic handsets are shaping up to be the best kept secret of the mobile industry, with some outstanding multimedia features for the technophile on the go.

What beggars belief is how quiet Nokia’s being about them. It’s a terrific product range, with the 5730 taking the number one XpressMusic spot - all it needs is for Nokia to realise it and start promoting the damn things.

Also, they need proper names. All these numbers are starting to blur.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
