NCSoft to debut a new casual-focused mobile gaming division with new releases planned
|
  • NCSoft is set to open a brand new casual-focused mobile division
  • It'll ensure more focus on genres like MMOs, shooters and anime-style games
  • NCSoft seems to have big ambitions for more on mobile!

NCSoft, the developer behind a huge number of major mobile releases, is set to expand with a brand-new casual mobile division. Business-wise, it's probably quite striking for many, but for the rest of us, it requires a little bit of explanation. Or, in other words, what does this mean for the average mobile player?!

Well, many of you will remember that NCSoft has had plenty of big releases recently, such as Journey of Monarch and the sadly shut-down Battle Crush. One of the issues they seem to have faced is the sheer number of releases, including genres that require a lot of work, such as MMOs.

This new division will put paid to a lot of fears that Journey of Monarch is being overlooked. A greater focus is set to be put on MMO scaling, as well as shooter and anime-style releases, not to mention casual mobile gaming as a whole.

Softly softly

I think, in essence, what we're seeing here is a good sign. Too often, whenever news trickles down from the business world to us, it usually mentions closures or other upsets. So while it's a shame that NCSoft seemed to have bitten off more than they could chew before, it's good to see more attention being placed on the undoubtedly high-quality release they're known for.

It also means that, outside of more attention to their existing catalogue, we can look forward to some exciting new releases, no doubt already cooking behind the scenes at NCSoft's new mobile division.
