Mobile sensation Critter Crunch coming to DS
Top mobile developer gets go-ahead to bring creations to Nintendo handheld

Respected mobile developer Capybara Games has today announced plans to bring some of its biggest games to DS.
The studio has recently been approved as a Nintendo developer, leaving it free to work on DS versions of its most popular mobile titles. Most exciting of these is Critter Crunch (pictured), an addictive bug feeding puzzle game which won the team a mass of awards, included Pocket Gamer's Gold Award.
The company has also created highly acclaimed mobile games Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Happy Feet and Cars (another Gold Award winner).
"Many of our mobile titles lend themselves to development on console platforms, and we see a lot potential in upscaling and expanding these properties," Tom Frencel, president of Capybara Games, said. "
Critter Crunch is a perfect example of this. It's a game that received a great response after its mobile release, and we're really excited about the possibility of bringing it to console gamers as well."
Currently, the studio has only confirmed it's working on one DS game – a licensed property for a 'top-tier' publisher. But it is in discussions with other publishers, and we can expect further announcements in the coming months.
It's welcome news from a company that has an enviable consistency when it comes to delivering top quality mobile games. As soon as Critter Crunch DS is given the inevitable green light, rest assured we'll be shouting about it from the nearest bug-infested hilltop.
