January Mobile Game Top 10
Tetris tops the charts – again

So much for surprises. ELSPA has just released its January mobile games chart, compiled from 3, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange, and it makes for familiar reading. Taking top spot is Jamdat’s Tetris which, like a cockroach repeatedly hit with a spade, refuses to die.
Of course, that’s thoroughly unfair – the reason Tetris continues to sell so strongly is that it’s a familiar brand, you know what you’re getting even from just seeing a screenshot and a few lines of text, and there’s still a vast audience of people out there for whom it’s probably their first mobile game purchase. And the fact that it's an undeniable classic doesn't hurt any either.
EA’s The Sims 2 takes second spot, followed by Namco’s Pac-Man, another retro title that’s been present on the mobile games chart for over a year now.
