iOS and Android Game of the Week - your vote needed
|

Every week, thousands of new games hit the iOS App Store and Google Play on Android. Trying to find the diamonds in the rough is no easy task, let us assure you.

We like to think we do a pretty good job with our news articles, mid-week round-ups, expert reviews, and comprehensive features, mind.

But, now we want to know what YOU think.

Every Thursday, we're going to ask you to pick the best game that was released on iOS and Android that week (from the nominations below), and then we'll announce the winner in a glamorous article next Monday.

There are loads of places to vote. Leave a comment at the bottom of this article, or reply to our Game of the Week tweet, answer the poll on Facebook. Alternatively, sellotape ten megaphones end-to-end and holler your winner at a crowded bus shelter.

The nominations
Lumber Jacked (iPhone, iPad) 1001 Attempts developer Everplay returns with another devilishly difficult arcade-platformer. This time, you play as a lumber jack and chase down wood-thieving beavers. Expect death, fun, and death.
Blue Toad Murder Files (iPhone, iPad) Wannabe Poirots and budding Miss Marples will likely get a kick out of this charming interactive murder mystery. It's quaint and family friendly, with a nice selection of logic puzzles.
Gemini Rue (iPhone, iPad) Deftly juggling two parallel stories - one of a detective on a far-off world, the other concerning a prisoner trapped in a floating compound - this noirish point-and-click adventure is not to be missed.
Dungeon Hunter 4 (iPhone, iPad, Android soon) After abandoning Diablo-esque exploration for arena combat, Gameloft brings its RPG series back to its dungeon-crawling roots. There is some arena battling and PvP available if you fancy it, though.
Worms 2: Armageddon (Android, iPhone, iPad) Blimey, just look at all those worms. Squishing around, not a care in the world. There's something serenely beautiful about watching Mother Nature's wonders at work. Now, where's my shotgun...

James pivoted to video so hard that he permanently damaged his spine, which now doubles as a Cronenbergian mic stand. If the pictures are moving, he's the one to blame.
