The gap is definitely closing but PSP is still number one in the charts

With E3 all done and dusted in Los Angeles we can finally get back to some degree of normality. Big sigh of relief.

And what could be more normal than reporting on a Friday that the latest figures from Media Create show that PSP is at number one in the Japanese hardware sales charts? Yes, the figures in for last week show PSP sold 56,998 units, putting it ahead of every other console.

Again.

Same as last week, DS came in at number two, selling 48,540 consoles. Wii was third with 41,768.

The gap then between DS and PSP is getting increasingly close. Watch this space and – you never know – we might be reporting in the next few weeks that PSP's lengthy reign at number one has finally come to an end.

That could alter the space/time continuum, mind.
