Cheating rife on N-Gage Arena?

Many of the top scores may be fake

Cheating rife on N-Gage Arena?

Have you ever posted what you felt was a killer score on N-Gage Arena only to find out that you’re about a million points off the top spot? Ever wondered what kind of gaming magic these digital demigods employ?

Well, one poster on the All About N-Gage forum has a disturbing theory: they’re all cheats. Now ordinarily we’d be tempted to dismiss such grumblings as sour grapes from an individual who takes his gaming far too seriously, but on this occasion we’re pretty much convinced.

Using the example of Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep, where each of the top five had the stratospheric score of 2147483647, contributor Fmuk suggests that this seemingly random number is the absolute maximum possible, pointing to an unsavoury bout of code-tinkering.

Take a look at the original post for the technical low-down.

What’s more, Fmuk goes on to suggest that “none of the supposed top players are legitimate game players,” and condemns the lack of a proper monitoring process from Nokia.
