After working on Speedball 2 Evolution, Polish developer Vivid Studios has gone for something a little less violent with its new iOS release Neon Mania.

It's a steady hand-style game that has you tracing the outline of intricately drawn neon shapes to bring them to electrical life.

Points are awarded for speed and accuracy, and the game's hundreds of levels are split across categories such as Kids, Sports, Landmarks, Party, and Signs. There are two modes - the precision Challenge mode and time-based Rush mode.

As well as the vibrant visuals, the chilled out atmosphere is maintained thanks to the calming soundtrack.

"It's a beautifully simple game to play and a great way to unwind. We're very proud of how addictive Neon Mania is. It's so hard to put down we had to create hundreds of levels to make sure people didn't burn through the game in just a few hours," Vivid president Remigiusz Koscielny said.

Neon Mania is out now as a universal app for iPhone and iPad. It costs 59p / 99c / €0.79.
