Asphalt creator goes indie, comes up with retro-styled Motor World: Car Factory

A new and noteworthy freemium simulator Motor World: Car Factory has rolled quietly onto the App Store.

Built on 8-bit style graphics and retro sound effects, Motor World is a product of two former Gameloft employees; former creative VP Stanislas Dewavrin and his wife Anne-Joelle.

In Motor World, players have to organise their workers to build and sell cars in an attempt to become the best-selling car manufacturer in the world. This includes improving your factory and stores, as well as producing a range of cars that can attract buyers.

Filled with pop culture references and a reliance on donuts - there are a bunch of mini-games and wacky quests to complete too - the game never takes itself or its ambitions too seriously.

It's on the App Store to have fun, and it hopes that you are too.

Cars are in his blood

As for the creator, well he's all about cars too - Stanislas Dewavrin is one of the creators of the Asphalt franchise.

While Motor World: Car Factory shares little with the Asphalt series in terms of graphics or gameplay, it represents a new direction for Dewavrin and is hopefully a sign of what the mobile gaming community can expect from his new company.

The game also includes the ability to compete with others via Game Center and Facebook.

Indeed, you can recruit your friends as workers, and send them gifts.

Motor World: Car Factory is out now for iPhone and iPad as is free-to-play.
