Hideo Kojima: Metal Gear Solid Touch is a 'light-hearted' Metal Gear game

Speaking in a one-off iPhone-centric extension of the popular Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, Hideo Kojima brought the gaming world up to speed on the Metal Gear Solid’s iPhone debut, Metal Gear Solid Touch.

“I believe there are many people who know about MGS's existence,” Kojima explains. “However, I believe there are also many people who don't play it because they think it looks hard.

"I'd like those people to sample the MGS world as light heartedly as one would listen to music. Of course, I'd like fans to also enjoy themselves.”

Along with project leader Yasuyo Watanabe (Kojima Production’s first female producer), Kojima explained that Metal Gear Solid Touch will feature 20 levels, with 12 initially available and the remainder being filtered out as free updates further down the line.

Watanabe cut her game development teeth on Metal Gear Solid Touch, but Kojima’s confidence in her design abilities is worthy praise indeed, so needless to say we’re very excited about its imminent release, which has also been revealed as March 19th.

See you then.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
