If there's one constant over here at Pocket Gamer towers, it's the love for the adorable Capybara Go. And while it may not be my cup of tea, it might be that cats are more your thing, like me. If that's the case, then Meow Rangers, which is out now for iOS and Android, might be worth a gander!
If you've played many cutesy animal-themed autobattlers before, then Meow Rangers won't present anything which radically alters the genre. But all the mainstays you'd expect are there: a peaceful world ravaged by monsters, adorable cats in various costumes, auto battles and village building.
Meow Rangers also has some interesting elements, such as its musically tinged theming. But if you're just looking to take down various interesting bosses, there are more than a few here. Be it the desert Sphinx, snowbound Yeti, Giant Hermit Crab, Vampire Count and beyond!

Naturally, Meow Rangers also offers plenty for busy bees, and if you need to take a break, you can leave your cats in the Cat Village to collect AFK rewards as you further upgrade its various buildings and amenities. All of which sees your humble village grow with each victory. There's also a huge roster of the titular Meow Rangers, all with different costumes and abilities, no doubt some of which will look a bit familiar to well-known media characters. And for those of you who think of themselves as budding Sun Tzu's, there's plenty of fun to be had with synergising and forming new strategies against your enemies.
And if you do think you'd be good as Sun Tzu, and Meow Rangers has given you a taste for victory, why not go ahead and dig into our list of the top 25 best strategy games on iOS and Android for some of our best picks from the genre?
