If you are not sure which characters to put together into the best team in MementoMori, we're here to give you a hand. In MementoMori, a mobile gacha game with beautiful visuals and a rather dark backstory, picking the right units to form a team is a pretty important step, because that will determine how well you will progress in the late stages of the game.

At the very beginning, you will be able to summon at least one SR unit (which later can become LR) from the tutorial gacha. This will most likely be your first encounter with them, so you should aim to get a top-tier one.

If you're unsure which characters are top tier, take a look at the MementoMori tier list to find out.

About team formation

In order to put together a good team, you must choose units that have a good synergy. Since the order in which you deploy them doesn't really matter, you should try to read the skills of all the units you have and deploy only the ones that are necessary depending on the content you're trying to clear.

For instance, some characters will passively increase your team's DEF, while others will only boost their HP. Based on the enemy or content you're trying to clear, you can aim for a few different teams in order to have more coverage when it comes to your needs and passing the stages.

Every team can have 5 units, so you should deploy the ones that go well together. Also, bear in mind that it's better if your deployed units have the same Soul, so you can benefit from Soul Bonuses. These are as follows:

  • 3 units with the same soul: HP +10%, ATK + 10%
  • 3 + 2 units with the same soul: HP +15%, ATK +15%
  • 4 units with the same soul: HP + 20%, ATK +20%
  • 5 units with the same soul: HP +25%, ATK +25%

Aim to have at least 15% (ideally 20% until you can get 5 units of the same soul) because believe it or not, it will make a difference.

What MementoMori team should I compose?

An ideal team should have two DPS units - one unit that can provide utility in the form of debuffs and two support units that can heal or provide team buffs. Units that can heal (such as Merlyn) are extremely good, not for their damage, but for the utility/support they provide.

Form several parties

When you head over to the Characters tab and then to the Parties tab (on the top side of the screen), you can see 10 party presets. You can deploy various units there and form multiple combinations, so you can see exactly what bonuses you can get from each one.

It would be best to try and form a more defensive party - one specialised in AoE, and another for massive single-target damage. That will make things a lot easier and will give you a clear idea of which units you should invest in first.

But with this being out of the way, it's time to take a look at five of our best teams in MementoMori!

1
Team setup #1

This team will have the following units:

  • Merlyn
  • Cordie
  • Olivia
  • Fortina
  • Freesia

It's a great team for pretty much all of the game's content. Merlyn is a super powerful healer, and alongside Fortina, the team will be kept alive for a lot longer. Olivia is great at providing ATK buffs as well as a shield, so what's left is to add Cordie and Freesia as DPS units.

2
Team setup #2

This team will have the following units:

  • Merlyn
  • Cordie
  • Olivia
  • Mertillier
  • Freesia

This is similar to the first one, but instead of Fortina this team will use Mertillier for the added damage. You can also swap out one of the other DPS for Amleth, but that entirely depends on the units that you currently have.

3
Team setup #3

This team will have the following units:

  • Merlyn
  • Cordie
  • Fenrir
  • Fortina
  • Soltina

With this team setup, the overall bonus will not be that amazing, but what each individual unit provides is far better than that. You will have great DPS from Soltina, Cordie and Fenrir, while Merlyn and Fortina will heal the team like none other.

4
Team setup #4

This team will have the following units:

  • Merlyn
  • Cordie
  • Fenrir
  • Mertillier
  • Freesia

These units are amazing overall, and you will have great added benefits from their passives as well as their active skills. The top-tier units on this team make it an outstanding MementoMori team setup for multiple instances. As some players have suggested, Freesia can be replaced by Fortina until it's been upgraded.

5
Team setup #5

This team will have the following units:

  • Primavera
  • Soltina
  • Fenrir
  • Florence
  • Moddey

Unlike the other teams, this one is more focused on DPS and buffs/debuffs. Florence will be the main DPS along with Fenrir, Soltina for debuffs and some more DPS, Moddey for ATK debuffs on the enemy and Primavera for even more damage and ATK increases.
