Capcom announces Mega Man mobile RPG to celebrate The Blue Bomber's 25th anniversary
It's Xover there!
Capcom has announced the new mobile-exclusive Mega Man game Mega Man Xover to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary.
The unconventional name for this new title becomes slightly more conventional when you realise that the game is set in the Xover World (pronounced 'Crossover World'), a crossover of all previous Mega Man game worlds.
Despite the new setting, the plot of Mega Man Xover sounds remarkably familiar: Mega Man and his heroic friends have been taken hostage by the combined evil forces of Dr Wily and Sigma.
To save these heroic folk, Mega Man's creator Dr Light joins forces with Dr Cossack to create a new robot that takes on the mantle of hero for this pocket-sized adventure.
Looking for a few good Mega Men
The "mass production robot" created by Drs Light and Cossack may lack a flashy name, but it makes up for that with a Battle Memory that it uses to build up its combat capabilities from enemies defeated in the Xover World.
While in control of this new robot, you will build your own Mega Man and - hopefully - bring peace back to the world.
Capcom confirmed an autumn 2012 launch window for Mega Man Xover on iOS. With a little bit of luck, it will be released outside of Japan. Fingers Xed.
