The developer of the highly impressive, but now cancelled, indie game 5734L3R, has a new game in the works. It's called MAZE.

We found out from the developer that it's coming to tablets, as well as desktop PCs. There's plenty of reasons to get excited about that news.

MAZE is a non-linear experience in which you fight your way through hand-crafted dungeons. Think Legend of Zelda with more gore, brutality, and personality. There are traps, tough enemies, and spatial puzzles throughout.

Save points are frequent, so frustration shouldn't come too often. Each dungeon gets darker the further down you go, and you'll have to acquire artefacts, keys, and map elements to progress.

You play as a Thief who entered the deepest dungeons of the MAZE to excavate a huge diamond. You weren't alone, as you travelled with a Witch, Dwarf, and Knight. Unfortunately, failure led to the others being turned to stone, while you were reset to the beginning dungeon.

As you play through MAZE, you're able to rescue the other characters, and once done, you can play them in a new adventure and solve the puzzle dungeons accessible only to them.

MAZE is currently in development, but is already looking rather brilliant. We'll keep you updated with further details.
