Marvel Snap has been releasing new characters left and right. Besides going through the daily grind of unlocking these new cards, most of the Marvel Snap community struggles to create effective decks while manipulating card synergies. Putting together an effective deck for certain cards can be a real pain in the you-know-what. Especially for Marvel Snap’s newest addition card: Black Knight.

Black Knight weighs in as a 1-power, 2-cost card. I’m sure you’re thinking, “That doesn’t seem too difficult to manage in my deck.” I know. I thought the same thing until I read his abilities. When used in play, Black Knight “After you discard a card, add the Ebony Blade to your hand with that card's Power. (Once per game).”

Basically, here's the deal in simple terms: when you put Black Knight on the board, and when one of your cards is discarded, the Ebony Blade shows up in your deck and copies the abilities power of the card you just chucked. Plus, the cherry on top is that the Ebony Blade also only weighs in at 4-cost.

Now, knowing what this unique 1-for-2 card combo can do, you need to have THE deck to pair it with. Not only will it take time to recruit Black Knight, but will also take time to acquire his effective pals for this killer deck. Below is the ultimate deck to use Back Knight:

  • Lady Sif
  • The Infinaut
  • Blade
  • Hela
  • Magneto
  • Wolverine
  • Black Bolt
  • Colleen Wing
  • MODOK
  • Apocalypse
  • Elsa Bloodstone
  • (Black Knight)

Some cards could be interchangeable here; Black Bolt for America Chavez, Wolverine for Zabu, or even Elsa Bloodstone being swapped out for Klaw, but the difference is minimal. Besides, Black Bolt is a better option since he costs one energy less and provides one more power than America Chavez.

Wolverine is also a better option - he packs more power than Zabu (Zabu offers 0 power, literally.), and when he’s discarded or destroyed, he’ll revive himself with an extra +2 power. As soon as you put him on the board, he throws himself into action, setting you up nicely for the Ebony Blade effect of the Black Knight.

The focal point of this deck is making sure that you have The Infinaut and Lady Sif ready to go. Before you even ask why, I’ll gladly explain. Having these three cards in your deck is a domino effect at its best.

First, you’d place Black Knight on the board, in order for things to happen correctly. Next, you’ll then put Lady Sif on the board. Lady Sif clocks in as a 3-cost, 5-power card that has the ability of “Discard the highest-cost card from your hand.” You see where I’m going with this, right? After Lady Sif discards your highest power card, which would be The Infinaut, because he’s a 6-cost 20-power card, the Ebony Blade will be summoned with 20 power and will only cost four energy! It’s a system you can’t beat yet!

As of now, using Black Knight is a massive risk and reward system. The idea of destroying your cards, in hopes for the Ebony Blade to do your dirty work may be effective, and hard to beat. However, it requires you to have the proper tools (right cards) to manipulate him correctly. I’d recommend you start playing some matches because it will take some time to put this lineup together. Hope this helps!
