Love and Deepspace's latest PR stumble puts psychoactive garnish on common cocktails

• Love & Deepspace hasn't had much of a chance to win back the crowd in recent years
• And suggesting people ingest Datura, a deadly herb, probably hasn't helped
• Once more, communications fall flat from Infold Games in a turbulent 2026

After the Valko controversy, you might be forgiven for thinking Love & Deepspace couldn't possibly put their foot in it any harder. What's left to do? Actively poison your playerbase? Well, as it turns out that may be closer to the truth than you think as Love & Deepspace's social media recently had to inform their players to not drink the cocktails they were promoting, based on the possibility of er...death.

As reported by a number of outlets, including Kotaku, the issue stems from a recent suite of social media posts promoting Love & Deepspace's in-game cocktails with some quirky garnishes. The only issue being many of these are, in fact, real cocktails. And while many fans will be familiar with the mixes of benign juices and syrups, many may not be aware of the deadly nature of herbs like Datura and Flame Lily.

A real cock(tail) up

Now, as mildly amusing as this news really is, it's also precisely not what Infold Games needs at the moment. After the Valko controversy, many overseas fans have been left feeling cold towards the game, and as if Infold aren't particularly invested in their global fanbase compared to the more vocal domestic fans.

So, with that in mind a miscommunication like this smacks less of an amusing mistake, and more like another example of an easily avoided misstep. With overseas spending seemingly almost collapsing after the Valko controversry, it wouldn't surprise me if Infold are close to writing off their global launch, and this sort of lacking social media presence doesn't help that impression.
