Limbus Company, the latest release from the developers of Library of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation, launches for iOS and Android
The highly anticipated next project from cult favourite indie developers Project Moon, Limbus Company, has finally launched for all. This extension of the world that Project Moon has crafted with their previous two games sees you taking part in a combination of real-time brawling and turn-based mechanics with some truly stunning animations and a striking art style, all tied together in an undoubtedly excellent plot.
Project Moon has made quite a name for itself as of late. With only three games under their belt, counting Limbus Company itself, each of their releases has stayed between overwhelmingly positive reviews or at the least very positive reviews on Steam, and it’s easy to see why.
Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina introduced us to a sci-fi world where nothing is as it seems, and with an extensive cast of characters that are all drenched in style and fantastic backstories. On top of this, both of them have such unique gameplay mechanics that it’s not at all a stretch to say Project Moon is doing some of the best work in the indie market available today. And now, with Limbus Company, they’re looking to further expand the world they’ve created with their previous two games into their first mobile release. This gacha-based action RPG sees you travelling throughout a city with a group of 12 characters, or Sinners as they’re called in-game, to find Golden Boughs.
The combat plays out in a complex manner despite the seemingly simple one-handed controls and involves a lot of thinking between every move your party members make. It’s overwhelming at first, but as you progress you start to see that it’s really just the natural evolution of the Library of Ruina.
Limbus Company is likely to be a hit amongst Project Moon fans, and if you aren’t a fan of their works yet, I cannot suggest enough that you give their previous two games a go and prepare to give Limbus the attention it deserves. If that’s too much legwork, you can also just download Limbus Company for free at either of the links below and jump right in, but be warned, the world might be a little unfamiliar to those of you that aren’t aware of Project Moon’s previous works.
