You'd be forgiven for stifling a yawn at the thought of the world's first mobile lift simulator. Unless it involves battling killer aliens while plummeting down an 800-foot lift-shaft with the cables hanging by a thread, how exciting can it be?

Well, HandyGames will make you think again. Liftboy is the company's newest casual game, which puts you in the shiny shoes of a 1930s liftboy. Your job is to take hotel guests from floor to floor, making smalltalk and getting them to their destination as quickly as possible.

The game features flirty chambermaids, well-dressed managers, random violinists and a host of other colourful characters, and the better you perform, the higher your tips.

Besides coping with your grumpy boss, you have to 'calm the weird soul' of your lift. We don't know what that means, but it sounds entertaining. Finally, HandyGames promises a bunch of unpredictable events and hidden features.

Liftboy is out soon, and we'll have a review as soon as we've made it to the ground floor.
