It is, of course, the nature of the beast that to fully enter the experience of a game, we, the players, have to suspend some of our disbelief and assume game characters are somehow real. To that extent at least, Lara Croft really is an orphan who lives in Croft Manor and has a butler called Winston, while Link is a left-handed boy who parades around Hyrule defeating Ganondorf and saving Princess Zelda.

Whether that helps us with Big Bubba King, good ol' boy entrepreneur and the fat Elvis face of Oxygen's forthcoming trick-based action puzzle game King of Clubs is another matter.

Whatever it is, King of Clubs will be wrapped in a Las Vegas setting, with Americana-style graphics and soundtrack, and the sort of humour we thought went out of fashion with Boss Hogg and Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane in the 1980's Dukes of Hazzard. And it seems like there will be plenty of it too, with 96 levels, including 10 multi-level challenges, bonus areas and multiplayer modes on the cards.

King of Clubs is mooted for release for DS and PSP this summer.
