King of Clubs brings its own type of crazy golf to PSP
Vegas style golfing game due in March, DS version to swing by later
Tiger Woods seems like a pretty straight-laced kind of man. The games he features in might be good, but we can't really imagine him in them playing golf wearing an Elvis suit, or on a course full of scaled down windmills and moving mechanical shark fins.
If you're of a similar opinion, you might just be interested in Oxygen's King of Clubs. As a golf game set in a run-down amusement area by a truck-stop in Nevada, it's fair to say it doesn't concern itself too much with the differences between a 2- and a 4-iron.
Instead it lets you play as one of six 'crazy' characters across 95 holes set in five unique environments. The Pro Shop sells – and we quote from the press release – "groovy gadgets, barmy balls and funky clubs", all of which promise to lend an element of strategy to every game.
Particularly if you're playing against friends, which you can do given that King of Clubs supports up to four players.
Oxygen confirmed today the game would be released on PSP (and Wii) on March 14th. If the idea of a casual, pick-up-and-play golf game with characters dressed like cavemen and The King appeals, be sure to look out for it then. A DS version will follow later in the year.
