Ka-Bloom, the first mobile game produced by London-based indie dev Strongman Games, is set to be published by BBC Worldwide.

Originally released as a Flash game for browsers back in 2010, this vibrantly presented iOS and Android arcade-puzzler focuses on Floret, a cute cosmic creature with an insatiable appetite.

You must feed Floret strings of gems by chaining them together and dragging them into his mouth.

Every mouthful will increase Floret's reach, allowing him to get his greedy hands on previously inaccessible gems.

A new leaf

The release of Ka-Bloom will mark the first time BBC Worldwide has published an independently produced IP for mobile: a decision that has finally allowed Strongman Games to bring the game to iOS.

"Ka-Bloom was always designed for touch devices, but our dreams were thwarted when Apple decided to go medieval on Flash back on early 2010," Erlend Grefsrud, creative director of Strongman Games, stated.

"We couldn't afford to rebuild it natively, and until now we only had feverish dreams of stroking our Floret on a proper, shiny iDevice."

Featuring 56 levels unique to the mobile edition, new graphics, and a remixed soundtrack, Ka-Bloom should be available on the Android Market and the App Store (as a Universal app) in the "near future".
