1
S Tier

A picture of Giorno Giovanna, a distinctive-looking young man with blonde hair that swirls into three circles above his brow.
  • Giorno Giovanna - Given he's the main character of Golden Wind, this high ranking shouldn't be a surprise. Giorno's ability to restore HP makes him an incredibly valuable lynchpin, and will carry you through most, if not all, of the early game and beyond.
  • Jotaro Kujo
  • Leone Abbacchio
  • Diavolo
  • F.F.
  • Cioccolata
  • Pet Shop
  • Lisa Lisa
  • Rubber Soul
  • Bruno Bucciarati
  • Koichi Hirose
  • The 'must-have' tier. These are characters that will typically lead your teams and provide all the necessary attributes and abilities. They can be of any category, but typically will be slanted towards major characters who have been neatly slotted into their 'leadership' role from the manga and anime.

    2
    A Tier

A picture of Blueford, a wolfish-looking man with long black hair and grey skin wielding a sword along his back.
  • Blueford - It's good to see the Phantom Blood characters getting a strong showing in Golden Spirit, and Blueford is no exception. Surprisingly, his straightforward, burst damage abilities means that he can quickly cleave through strong enemies extremely fast.
  • Guido Mista
  • Sports Maxx
  • Narancia Ghirga
  • Will A. Zeppeli
  • Robert E.O. Speedwagon
  • Sale
  • Gwess
  • Shigekiyo Yangu
  • N'Doul
  • Straizo
  • Pesci
  • Santviento
  • Keicho Nijimura
  • Chaka
  • Joseph Joestar
  • Akira Otoishi
  • Mario Zucchero
  • Secco
  • Hermes Costello
  • Prosciutto
  • Mohammed Avdol
  • Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli
  • Melone
  • Formaggio
  • Tonio Trendy
  • Elite-tier picks that will be great to build out your roster or use for specific purposes. You'll want to go for these if they're available, but they're typically lower-priority than S-tier. These are typically the 'companion' characters from the series, who are naturally built to pair well with their series peers (see the Golden Wind crew).

    3
    B Tier

An image of Hol Horse, an American-looking man with sideburns wearing a tan cowboy ensemble.
  • Hol Horse - While he doesn't offer the same hard-hitting single shot for his ultimate like Guido Mista, Hol Horse's abilities make him a respectable ranged character. Although, bizarrely (pun not intended), despite his stand being all about controlling the direction of his bullets, that doesn't really figure into anything but his ultimate.
  • Tarukus
  • Mariah
  • Squalo
  • Captain Dragon
  • Kenzou
  • Vivano Westwood
  • Johngalli A.
  • Ghiaccio
  • Lang Rangler
  • A somewhat shorter tier, these are characters which don't naturally fit into larger teams but have their own distinctive and often useful abilities. This is where you'll find the majority of characters, as there are very few truly bad or lacklustre characters in Golden Spirit by virtue of the format and genre.

    4
    C Tier

An image of Leaky-eye Luca, a gangster with a tear permanently dripping from his right eye wielding a shovel.
  • Leaky Eye Luca - Look, the guy's only appearance in the series was him getting his head smacked in by a shovel in one chapter. All Luca has going for him is basic burst damage abilities. So use him to build out your collection and forget about him.
  • Anjuro Katagiri
  • Rudol von Stroheim
  • Nice to have if you're building out your collection, but really not ones to shoot for. These are characters that by dint of design, ability and category simply aren't as great. They're not necessary or helpful for lineups, and probably function most as deep cuts and nice collectibles for fans. Fortunately, we don't usually have a D-tier for most games nowadays, as they tend to be fairly well balanced. But we recommend keeping these to the side or using them for investigations.

    Reroll Guide

Rerolling in any gacha game, or character-collector or whatever you want to call it, is really only something you'll want to do if you're truly dedicated. And increasingly it seems as if initial picks with your 'complementary' pulls are slanted towards one group of characters or another. It definitely isn't a coincidence that my initial pulls grabbed most of the Golden Wind characters.

An image of the generic recruitment visual for JJBa Golden Spirit, featuring Koichi Hirose, Caesar Zeppeli and Mohammed Avdol.

Still, if you're fine with putting the effort in, it's simple enough. Just jump into the game, but don't link your account, and then once you've played through the initial tutorial and gotten your complimentary pulls, just decide whether to pick them or delete the game and go through the process again. It's a lengthy way of doing it, but it does (usually) give you a greater chance of acquiring better characters.
