Quirky iOS heavy metal platformer Ironworm has just thrown up the horns and taken to the App Store stage.

Picture, if you will, Dave Grohl's head mounted on a Slinky. You now have a pretty good idea of what Ironworm's flexible protagonist looks like.

You must guide your spineless avatar through leafy environments, clearing gaps and destroying enemies while always maintaining contact with at least one surface.

Headbanging

This worm has a spiky metal ball at the end of its body, you see, meaning its head can stay clamped to a platform while the 'business end' takes care of insectoid enemies.

Developer 10tons - responsible for the Bronze Award-winning Grim Joggers, among others - has drawn up a set list of 30 levels to play through, and, of course, composed a guitar-heavy soundtrack to complement the rock 'n' roll visuals.

If you're the kind of War Pig who likes to Seek and Destroy, mosh on over to the App Store where you'll find the Universal app Ironworm for 69p / 99c.

James Gilmour
James pivoted to video so hard that he permanently damaged his spine, which now doubles as a Cronenbergian mic stand. If the pictures are moving, he's the one to blame.
