You'll be able to watch an Ingress anime on Netflix sooner than you think
Pokemon GO creator's first game is getting its own animated series
Niantic is teaming up with Fuji TV and anime studio Crafter to bring an Ingress anime series to Netflix this October. Ingress: The Animation will tell the story of a world where exotic matter is leaking through portals, granting people psychic powers. The action will follow Makoto and Sarah, the show’s protagonists, as they are drawn into faction battles over the mysterious Portals. You can learn more about the series on its official website.
Ingress was Niantic’s first AR experience, sending players out into the world to compete in two different factions to capture Portals that are disguised as landmarks and pieces of art. Niantic announced Ingress Prime late last year, a reboot of the classic AR game, granting Ingress everything from a new narrative to an artistic and user-interface overhaul. Ingress Prime is set to launch alongside the new anime series this October.
