iPhone gets its first online FPS, unimaginatively entitled iFPS

Online multiplayer gaming is the chequered flag all iPhone developers are racing toward, and there’s been a lot of headway made in this arena recently.

The latest of which is the platform’s first 3D online multiplayer from developer Pick Up and Play, called iFPS.

You can either host or join a game through wi-fi or 3G (the latter being a very important aspect of any iPhone online game, we think) or hone your skills through a couple of different single player modes.

iFPS operates either through touchscreen control or the accelerometer, and even packs in a quick-chat feature so you can strategise, plot and gloat with other players.

Check out the gameplay video below, which shows you how to get online, run, and gun; and hit the ‘Buy It!’ button to head over to the App Store for a closer look.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
