Hill Billy iPhone FPS blocked by Apple
Another game thrown into App Store's rejection bin
During the recent unveiling of the iPhone 3.0 SDK, Apple finally acknowledged - albeit cryptically - concerns over the App Store’s rather prudish censorship policies.
It insisted that only four per cent of applications are actually rejected, which is an undeniably good turnaround, though it’s the reasons for those rejections that are riling up the developers.
It seems that anything even slightly mature in theme or vaguely controversial is given the boot, despite considerably more adult material being readily available elsewhere in iTunes.
Anyway, the latest game to fall into App Store limbo is FPS Hill Billy, which we first took a look at way back in November 2008. TouchArcade has heard from developer Miracle Labs, who confirmed that the impressive looking 3D shooter has been rejected due to the graphic content.
The good news is that the development team is looking into toning down the areas it suspects Apple is unhappy with, and intends to resubmit Hill Billy very shortly.
In the meantime, take a gander at the gameplay video below and let us know if this is the sort of game you'd like to see on your iPhone.
