Having been involved in games such as Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, Wipeout HD, and Formula 1 2006, what comes next?

A geometric come psychedelic puzzler for iPhone and iPad that's what - at least that's the path taken by Paul Ripley with his game Hexius.

It's an interesting mixture of speed and strategy as you have to tap all the same coloured symbols on the hexagonal grid as fast as you can but in such a way as to create paths that create additional play pieces such as bomb, freeze and reveal bonus.

Available for all

Released in May, the game's just been backed with the release of a free Lite version.

This features the Time Attack mode and the first six levels of the Level Challenge mode. In this, any time gained completing one level carried over to the next.

Only available in the $1.99 version is the third mode, Strategy, in which you have to score as highly as you can within 30 moves, and access to OpenFeint for leaderboards, high scores and achievements.

Hexius is available now as a universal app for iPhone and iPad, priced $1.99, €1.59 or £1.19, or check out the Lite version [iTunes link].
