Hero of the Kingdom starts with a picturesque scene. You enjoy a quiet life in a shire, tending to your farm with your family, surrounded by peace and tranquillity. Suddenly, this is shattered as out of nowhere when you find your home raided by bandits, razed to the ground, and your father kidnapped. You will need to gather your nerves, grab what you can, and set out to reunite your family and rebuild your life.

One of the best things about Hero of the Kingdom is that the story is non-linear, so you can truly undertake your journey in any way you like at your own pace. Feel like taking a jaunt through the forests? Then go on a herb-picking excursion. Want to harness your inner hunter-gatherer? Feel free to go hunting for animals. Your father might not appreciate the wait, but being a hero is stressful work which demands some respite.

Striking out on your own does present its challenges though, such as money. Sure, you can try to get food with your own two hands, but you also need equipment, a place to sleep, and all those other pesky necessities. To that end, you will need to earn gold to keep you going, so make sure you brush up on your bartering so you can sell those pelts that are weighing you down. You will need to master resource management to make sure you have everything you need on your long journey.

If you're ready to venture into the colourful world Hero of the Kingdom has to offer then you can find it available to download now from the App Store for $5.99.
