Orcs Must Die and Age of Empires developer Robot Entertainment has just released free-to-play iPhone strategy title Hero Academy, which we first told you about back in December.

This asynchronous game pits you and your team of customisable warriors against your best buddies and random opponents from around the world in multiple turn-based battles.

You can jump straight into a ruckus and begin to unleash attacks using the game's free Council team, or purchase additional squads through in-app purchases for 69p / 99c.

Either way, Hero Academy's in-game chat function allows you to taunt your opponents as you destroy their forces. As battles play out in an asynchronous manner, push notifications will alert you when it's time to unleash your best moves.

You can download Hero Academy from the App Store without having to put your hand in your pocket, but you can also splash some cash to remove ads and unlock extra content if you wish.
