Everyone in the publishing trade from Rupert Murdoch downwards hopes the iPad will boost their subscription business, but how about this for a novel approach?

FingerArts is bringing its iPhone game Hangman RSS to iPad in HD form.

It enhances the news reading experience by providing another way to discover the latest headlines from major news sources.

You have to guess the letters to fill in the latest headlines before your stick figure succumbs to the noose. And as the difficulty level increases, you're tasked with filling in more and more words in the headline.

Hangman RSS automatically updates its collection of news feeds with the latest content.

And it must be doing something right as the iPhone version has received over 500,000 downloads worldwide.

The game will be out for the iPad launch on 3rd April, price TBA.
