Gun Bros for iPhone gets new planets, enemies, leaderboards, and Retina display support
But it still won’t connect to the servers
Glu’s freemium twin-stick shooter Gun Bros has received a large content patch that adds new challenges to the game for those who’ve managed to blast their way through the existing billion levels (or thereabouts).
The new planet, Haven, has a selection of new foes to take down, so those bored with the same ‘big mutants with guns’ and ‘flamethrower dudes’ can breathe easy.
There have also been additions and fixes made behind the scenes, with Game Center leaderboards now supported, and higher resolution graphics for the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G now in place.
What isn’t in place at the time of writing are the servers themselves, which have been down for the past week or two due to the popularity of the title.
Considering the unique angle of the game over its peers was the close integration with your friends’ list, it’s mightily disappointing that Glu hasn’t sorted this out yet.
