Goddess of Victory: Nikke confirms everyone's suspicions with release date for latest collaboration with popular JRPG NieR: Automata

After being pretty obviously teased a few months back, the extremely popular third-person shooter gacha RPG Goddess of Victory: Nikke has revealed that it will begin its collaboration with the legendary JRPG NieR: Automata come September 1st. This was all predicted pretty easily, but the confirmation is quite exciting, as many fans are hankering to see 2B and A2, the primary protagonists of Automata, within the world of Nikke.

At this point, Nikke is so popular I don’t believe it needs a thorough introduction. What I can explain, however, is why Automata might just be the perfect game to collaborate with when it comes to Nikke’s, shall we say, character aesthetics.

Those of you who have played Nikke will know exactly what I mean here, but for those that haven’t, simply look at just about any character in the game. Nikke is known to have some of the most revealing and skimpy character designs in any gacha ever, and that is saying something for this genre. But given you’re looking at the back of whatever character on your team you’re playing at the moment, I’d bet you can imagine where most of the budget goes to.

So, it makes a lot of sense for 2B and A2, two recent JRPG characters who are often looked at as having some of the more revealing designs within the genre itself, to end up in a game like Nikke. The connection does go beyond just that, however, as 2B and A2 are also canonically androids within the world of NieR, and all of the main characters within Nikke are basically androids too, so this really does all track.

With all of that out the way, this is a pretty hyped-up collaboration that many Nikke players have been looking forward to. With it due out so soon, I imagine we’ll soon start getting a deeper look at what to expect from the crossover beyond the simple teaser trailer featured above, but until then, you can download Goddess of Victory: Nikke for free at either of the links below and get started ahead of that launch date right now!
