Addmired launches Girl Wars Online for iPhone
Girls who fight girls, who fight girls, who fight girls
The refreshing thing about social games is their lack (in most cases) of a male bias - these are games designed to be played and shared by friends of both genders.
And by most cases, we mean 'all except the ones about mafia thuggery'.
All those mob games are a bit... male. And while there are doubtless many women who enjoyed The Sopranos as much as the next, er, man, there's surely space in the market for more female-focused social games to counterbalance the many, many mob titles.
Addmired clearly agrees - having won plenty of fans with its iPhone mafia social game iMob Online, it's now launched Girl Wars Online, also on the App Store. It's essentially the same game, but with more pastels, catfights and handbags.
(We're not being flippantly sexist - that really is a summary of the gameplay changes).
With iPod touches increasingly popular among teenage girls (and, indeed, teenagers full stop), something tells us Girl Wars may find a big audience very quickly.
Possibly even quickly enough to deter the near-inevitable flood of copycat titles...
