Genshin Impact Shenhe guide - Best build, strengths and weaknesses

Welcome to Pocket Gamer’s Genshin Impact Shenhe Guide! Shenhe is a disciple of the cloud retainer and a gifted warrior. Possessing a strong will and constitution, as well as an inherent talent for the adepti arts, Shenhe stands out as a gifted and powerful warrior and one of the cloud retainers' most accomplished pupils.

Since childhood, Shenhe has had violent homicidal tendencies, a growing bloodlust, and a fate destined to bring harm and calamity to herself and those around her. She was bound in red rope to quell her violent instincts, but as a result, this has left her cold and inexpressive, hindering her emotions and leaving her indifferent to mortal life. In this Shenhe guide, you will find the following features:

As a thank you for reading this guide, here are some Genshin Impact codes!

Shenhe Character Appearance

Cyro / A Tier / 5* Rarity / Polearm

In Genshin Impact, Shenhe is an excellent sub-DPS or Support Polearm user who can deal good Cryo damage whilst also providing some hefty buffs to her party’s Cryo damage thanks to her unique icy Quill effect.

How to get Shenhe

Shenhe can be obtained from her featured banner, The Transcendent One Returns, which is currently inactive. She cannot be acquired in the standard wish banner at this time.

  • Her Icy Quill effect provides some high DMG buffs for Cryo party members
  • Shenhe’s constellations and passives further enhance her DMG buff and support capabilities
  • She has good utility thanks to her elemental burst, which reduces Phys and Cryo resistance

  • She requires very specific team compositions to be at her most effective
  • High energy cost for her Elemental Burst

Shenhe is at her best when she is using her support and utility within the right party, but can still deal decent damage. To get the most out of Shenhe in your team, equip her with the Calamity Queller polearm for increased elemental DMG and an additional ATK bonus after using your Elemental Skill that doubles when she is out of the field. Pair this with the Noblesse Oblige Artifact full set to get an increase in Elemental Burst DMG and a teamwide ATK buff that altogether gives a huge boost to Shenhe and her team's damage.

Premium (Gacha) Team

In Genshin Impact, Shenhe is a go-to choice for Support thanks to her Cryo damage buff and ability to decrease enemy Physical and Cryo resistance. Ayaka should be your first choice for Main DPS, with her already high Cryo damage even stronger thanks to Shenhe’s Icy Quills buff. Diona will provide healing and shielding thanks to her Elemental Skill, and can take advantage of Shenhe’s buff for some high damage output. Kazuha is a great choice for crowd control and reaction damage, gaining a hefty elemental damage buff for both himself and the party thanks to his Elemental and Burst Skills and triggering some high damage with swirl reactions.

F2P Team

Shenhe loses some of her utility and support in this group, instead taking the Sub-DPS role. Xiangling will use her Pyro skills to deal high damage and trigger Melt reactions. Amber will provide crowd control with her Skill and Pryo resonance for some additional damage and make good use of her Burst for high damage melts. Barbara will take on the healing duties whilst also freezing enemies for more crowd control and potential reaction damage.

The Icy Quill's effects will be cleared once its duration ends or after being triggered a certain number of times. When held rather than tapped, the Icy Quill's effect lasts longer and can be triggered more times.
