Killzone and Syphon Filter PSP demos debut, plus Ghost Rider for mobile
PSP + Java
| Friday Freebie

Afternoon, freebie hunters. Pocket Gamer is in a jubilant mood today!

Whilst braving the online jungle, scything our way through the undergrowth of rubbish Java games and Sudoku clones, we came upon a clearing where we found a couple of supple young freebies grazing. Two eagle-eyed spear throws later, and we'd bagged ourselves a pair of handheld gaming sweet meats.

So without further ado it's this week's Friday Freebie platter brought to you fresh from the wild of the internet.

Freebie 1: Playable demos of Killzone Liberation and Syphon Filter, plus Chilli Con Carnage wallpaper

Chilli Con CarnageThe last PSP content pack was all wallpapers and screenshots, but this month's edition includes two playable demos. The two games featured are Killzone Liberation and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror.

Okay, so both games were released last year but hey, they are free.

There's also a Chilli Con Carnage wallpaper (covering your PSP with real chilli would just be messy and somewhat impractical), some Afterburner Black screenshots and curiously a trailer of God of War 2 for the PS2. (Okay, so maybe it's not that unusual that Sony would be keen to promote a PlayStation 2 bestseller to PSP users but we at Pocket Gamer latch on to any shred of hope we can find for a PSP version of God of War.)

The latest PSP Content Pack is available now from the US PSP site.

Freebie 2: Free mobile demo of Ghost Rider

Ghost RiderComic book fans are in for a treat this week, as a free demo of the mobile version of Ghost Rider is available for download now.

For those of you who've not already clicked the link and are still reading, the demo is part of a promotional competition to win a selection of Ghost Rider figurines and copies of the PS2 game.

But why bother with any of that when you can just go blazing into a gratis taster of the mobile version? The demo is available to UK registered O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and 3 customers whose handsets are compatible, and is available now.

That's it for this week. We're off to sharpen our spears and prime our poison darts so we can hunt down some more freebies for next time. Happy freeloading – and click 'Track It!' to be reminded when we post new freebies.
