Freaky Creatures mobile PC MMO game

USB flash drive to become a pseudo-handheld gaming system?

Freaky Creatures mobile PC MMO game

Here's an interesting new concept. Freaky Creatures, a new 'build your own creature' type game for the PC (that looks to borrow from Spore in several respects, and Pokemon in others), is an MMO that comes on a USB flash drive. Apparently, the whole game is contained on the memory stick itself (and through online components), making it an essentially portable game you can pick up and play wherever there's a PC.

Freaky Creatures comes packaged with two action figures, whose likeness is also contained on the flash drive and on trading cards. After customising your Freaky Creatures, you take them online to battle friends (and enemies) and win a random part from your opponent when victorious. You can also create teams of monsters, socialise with other players and have a go at a variety of mini-games.

Obviously this is on the fringes of pocket gaming, but considering the heart of these Freaky Creatures beat within a USB drive (and those are very pocketable, of course) we thought it might be worth a mention. Check out the official site for more info.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
