Tribal City and Mad Toro Studios's iOS physics-puzzler Flip the Switch has scooped the Best Casual Game gong at the inaugural Irish Game Developer Awards, held as part of the annual games industry festival Games Fleadh.

In Flip the Switch, you hurl animals across obstacle-strewn environments to collect coins and, well, flip the switches.

"We are delighted to win this award," Tribal City founder Alan Duggan said. "We worked hard on the polish and balance of Flip the Switch. It's wonderful to see that effort pay off with our players."

The shortlist for the award contained the eye-popping Bubble Dreams, colour-matching puzzler Mad Blocker, and PopCap classic Bejeweled.

"We really love all the other games in the category, so to be chosen as best casual game against such strong competition is fantastic recognition," Duggan acknowledged.

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, you can try out Flip the Switch's 140 creature-flinging levels by swinging by the App Store and parting with 69p / 99c.
