Firemint’s Flight Control is a gem. Put together in about two months, it started life as a development exercise and quickly became one of the App Store’s most addictive casual games.

Firemint’s Robert Murray has been talking to the Telegraph today about Flight Control, and amongst his remarks are a couple of interesting titbits regarding the game’s future.

Apparently, the first update will allow players to upload their scores using the company’s vaunted Cloudcell technology and participate in online leaderboards.

There’s also a website to which you’ll be able to upload personal information, including your whereabouts with the help of Google Maps, and Firemint will send data about recent scores close to your own score so that you can see where you sit in the hierarchy.

Perhaps most interestingly, Firemint has integrated Twitter into the imminent Flight Control update. If you want, you can have the game automatically send tweets to let the world know how you’re getting on.

How very zeitgeist.

Update: Firemint has posted images of the update on Twitter, so here they are.
