Another sea change for the popular naval strategy

Fleet Battle’s latest update has added Italian vessels to the fray

Naval strategy Fleet Battle has been drip-feeding new content for players to dive into since launch, and developer Smuttlewerk is showing no signs of scrapping this trend. The game’s latest update has just washed up on the tide and it includes plenty of extra features.

For starters, an Italian feel has been added to the popular warfare simulation and universal blueprints, which can be used to unlock all vessels within fleet, have been introduced.

Available for iOS and Android devices, Fleet Battle is also more visually appealing during matches as a hit camera feature is included in the latest update, meaning that short 3D animations will now play whenever a ship has been destroyed.

Smuttlewerk has also changed the way players who abruptly leave matches are penalised. From now on, players who are dubbed ‘dishonourable’ will have to make amends by playing five matches in a row without quitting. They will earn no points or blueprints during this period, but will regain their ‘honourable’ status if they get through all five without a hitch.

For the uninitiated, Fleet Battle is a modern take on Battleships which brings the naval warfare to life by allowing players to build up a collection of 3D vessels. You can take on other players online or go head to head with computer-controlled fleets.
