Fire Emblem: Heroes is adding Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters next week

With a week left until the launch of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, one of 2019’s most highly anticipated games, Fire Emblem: Heroes is set to celebrate by adding several of the new Three Houses characters.

In the video below, we get a glimpse of ‘Proven Professor’ Byleth, ‘The Schemer’ Claude, ‘The Future’ Edelgard (which my brain refuses to read as anything but ‘Edgelord’), and ‘The Protector’ Dimitri. There will also be a new story chapter, ‘Cohort of the Dead’, to take on.

The trailer shows some of the new characters’ weapons, special abilities, and skills. It looks like there’s a nice variety of melee fighters and long-range specialists, with bows, axes, and lances added to the mix.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the worlds of Fire Emblem: Heroes and Fire Emblem: Three Houses collide, with Nintendo having already put together similar tie-in events where you could work toward earning a 5-star version of Byleth. In fact, I believe that promotion is still going if you missed out on it when it first started.

Fire Emblem: Heroes is probably Nintendo’s best crack at a full-on free-to-play mobile game, certainly better than the travesty that is Dr. Mario World. The tie-in event begins on July 22nd, and it doesn’t look like it’s time-limited or anything.

Don't miss out on the FEH tier list we made for you!

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is set to launch for Nintendo Switch on July 26th – that’s next Friday. Fire Emblem: Heroes is available to download for free on both the App Store and Google Play. Now is as good a time as any to get involved if you dropped out after release or are yet to even make a start. As I said, Heroes is actually pretty decent, maybe the best thing Nintendo has put out on mobile.
