Free-to-play Final Fantasy Agito will let you battle behemoths in your street clothes

Whatever your feelings on a free-to-play Final Fantasy game for mobile might be, there's no denying that Final Fantasy Agito is looking pretty good.

The freemium Final Fantasy title that's definitely being localized (but still might not make it overseas) is due out in Japan in May, and Square Enix has released a trailer to show off some of its new features.

Namely, its wardrobe choices.

Siliconera reports that those who pre-register for Agito in Japan will have the option to dress their heroes up in their everyday street clothes.

Final Fantasy Agito began its life as Final Fantasy Agito XIII - a mobile game designed to flesh out the Fabula Nova Crystalis story of Final Fantasy XIII.

Somewhere in its development, Square Enix scraped the "Agito XIII" suffix, renamed it Type-0, and decided to bring it to the PSP in as a massive, 2 UMD game that never made its way to the west.

Now Agito is finally being given its day in the sun as a mobile game.

Its chapter-based story follows the hero Ace and his classmates as they quest about the world of Type-0, fighting across the four, war-torn continents of Orience.

We have no idea when or if Agito will make its way over to the west, but we'll keep you updated as soon as we know more.
