Fantasy Life Online is still kicking around

Remember Fantasy Life Online, the mobile follow up to Level-5’s excellent slice of life fantasy sim? It’s still happening, apparently, following numerous delays, and is slated to launch this summer in Japan according to a new trailer from Level-5.

Fantasy Life Online was announced all the way back in 2015, originally as Fantasy Life 2. The game was expected to launch in 2016 before being delayed twice in 2017, then again this past year. After a rocky development cycle, Level-5 seems to be serious this time around, but we’ll wait and see.

We gave the original Fantasy Life a Silver Award when it debuted back in 2014 on the Nintendo 3DS. If you’re a fan of life sims like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, or Stardew Valley, you’d do very well to give this game a go. Players can choose from a number of different jobs that vary between combat heavy roles like hunters or paladins, or become a fisher or woodcutter. You can cycle among vocations as you bask in the peaceful day to day in the game’s fantasy setting.

There’s no date for a western release for Fantasy Life Online. We’ll keep you posted when the time comes.
