Fable Town rakes in big money for My.Games as this successful match-three makes its mark
  • Fable Town by Reef Games Studios is the latest My.Games success story
  • It's raked in a whopping 2.3 million installs with a positive reception
  • Fable Town sees you playing match-three puzzles to restore the titular magical town

My.Games has benefited from some surprising success over the past few years. Not least in Rush Royale, their competitive tower defence. But there've also been other success stories, including Reef Games Studios' Fable Town, which has surpassed 2.3 million installs.

This match-three release offers a new, magical twist on the genre. As with many others on mobile, the mechanics which have been refined in many other examples of match-three aren't necessarily the selling point. Instead, it's the magical world you find yourself in, with those puzzles paving the way to (as you might expect) restoring the titular Fable Town.

Clearly, this has worked out well for the folks at My.Games and Reef Games Studios, considering that it's also raked in plenty in the way of revenue. But it's the player feedback that, of course, matters here, and reception seems to be quite positive towards Fable Town.

As for what you can expect if you're a dedicated fan of Fable Town, the upcoming first anniversary, arriving this September, promises special rewards and new features to mark the milestone. And a new three-week anniversary event is set to feature its own prizes.

While Magic Town may be riffing on a lot of well-known mechanics when it comes to match-three (I mean, how often have we seen the old renovation chestnut?), it's clearly struck a chord with fans. And with these milestone celebrations on the way, I wouldn't be surprised if it continues to be a success story for those of you wanting something new in the match-three genre.

Speaking of which, you may find yourself hankering for even more puzzle action, but not sure where to start. And if that's the case, why not go ahead and dig into our list of the best puzzle games for iOS to see what's on offer!
