Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl coming to Europe in 2014

The Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning RPG Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is coming to Europe in 2014 thanks to NIS America.

Etrian Odyssey Untold is a reboot of the original Etrian Odyssey with a few notable improvements, the greatest of which is the ability to play a "Story Mode" with a party of five pre-cast characters who are brought to life with wonderful voice acting and dialog.

If this doesn't strike your fancy, you can still go your own way with a player-created party in "Classic Mode" - just don't expect the same narrative.

In our review of Etrian Odyssey Untold, we said that "The characters and story at the heart of The Millennium Girl serve as the perfect ambassadors to bring the decidedly niche Etrian Odyssey franchise into the mainstream."

While there were a host of other improvements introduced to help with the pacing, we also noted that "the same limitations that have prevented gamers from embracing the series en masse still run throughout" and found the limited inventory system to be a bit, well, limiting.

Still, if you can overlook its few flaws, Etrian Odyssey Untold delivers a great story and is a wonderful, old school RPG to add to your 3DS collection.

We don't have a firm European release date for it just yet, but we'll keep you posted when we know more.
