Endling: Extinction is forever, an emotional survival journey where you play as a fox taking care of her cubs, sets a release date for its mobile port

HandyGames’ popular survival game Endling: Extinction is Forever was announced to be receiving a mobile port a few months ago, and we now have an official release date at last. As of February 7th, 2023, you’ll be able to experience the dystopian survival animal life simulator as you attempt to stay alive in a harsh and dying world.

Extinction is Forever is a narratively heavier survival game than usual, seeing you take on the role of a mother fox within a semi-post-apocalyptic world in which humans have ruined the world so much that plant and animal life is nearly all dead. As this mother fox, you’ll have to try to find ways to survive and keep not only you but also your adorable little fox pups alive as well.

Gameplay-wise, Extinction is Forever is a sort of 2.5D sidescroller adventure game, seeing you traverse various destroyed and ruined environments as you try to hunt down food for you and your pups or traverse deadly hunters and other hazards. There are men with guns looking to take you out, other animals trying to hunt you down, and other brutal parts of the wilderness trying to ruin your survival efforts.

On top of these gameplay loops, Extinction is Forever is emotional at its core. Some of the situations you find yourself in will lead to emotional choices where you’ll have to make sacrifices and heavy decisions to keep you and your family of foxes alive. It will pull on those heartstrings, either with its depiction of an adorable animal family or its commentary on the state of the real-world environment.

If you’d like to get ahead of the curve yourself and pre-order the game before its launch in only a month and some change, you can do so at either of the links below!
