Echoes of Mana opens pre-registration for iOS and Android ahead of impending release
Following the announcement of a rough window at the end of last year, Square Enix has officially opened pre-registers and pre-orders for Echoes of Mana, another release in the popular Mana series. The free-to-play game will integrate several elements from the old Mana games along with a bunch of new worlds and characters as well.
Any JRPG fan worth their salt will immediately recognize the Mana name as it is a long-running JRPG series featuring turn-based combat and an anime art style. With Echoes of Mana, as you can likely tell by the name, Square Enix is hoping to capture a bit of all of the magic from each entry into the series and encapsulate it into one game. Echoes of Mana will feature worlds from older games, characters, and even some of the old classic music tracks.
Given we don’t know much about Echoes of Mana beyond name and theme alone, we can look at the other titles for information on expected gameplay mechanics. All of the mana games feature a semi turn-based semi action-based combat system, and this one will likely be no different. The stories usually involve some wild JRPG tropes such as time-travelling and defeating the big bad. Of course, this is all speculation, and Echoes of Mana could swing for the fences on new mechanics if it desired.
While once again no official release date has been announced, we do know a rough Summer 2022 window is what is expected. The App Store pre-order page will tell you that it launches on April 30th, but this is likely a placeholder date and shouldn’t be taken as the official date until we get an announcement. If you want to get in early, you can pre-order Echoes of Mana on the App Store or Google Play. If you’re looking to get into the series, you can play the remake Adventures of Mana and Secret of Mana, or play the recently released Trials of Mana all on iOS or Android devices.
