MLB Pro Spirit adds six new star players hand-picked by series ambassador Shohei Ohtani
  • MLB Pro Spirit is debuting a new in-game scouting event with hand-picked players
  • Series ambassador Shohei Ohtani set down to offer his choices
  • Ryan Helsley, Mookie Betts and others will be available through the event until April 8th

While it's hard to remain credulous on a day like April Fools, fortunately, there's plenty of regular, real news to report on too. As is the case with eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit and the addition of their new Ohtani Selection, which will debut in a new in-game scouting event available until April 8th.

Named for series ambassador Shohei Ohtani, a tremendously skilled player in his own right, the Ohtani selection sees the Dodgers star personally selecting six new star players. That's three batters and three pitchers, featuring names from across the top MLB Teams.

Alright, enough waffle, who's included? Well on the pitching side of things Zac Gallen from the Arizona Diamondbacks, Ryan Helsley of the St. Louis Cardinals and Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers are all on board. Meanwhile, batters Adley Rutschman (Baltimore Orioles), Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers) and Steven Kwan (Cleveland Guardians) are ones to watch.

This latest event also comes alongside another new milestone for eBaseball, as MLB Pro Spirit surpasses over five million players. While the fine American sport may not have the massive global reach that others such as football (or soccer, if you're wrong) boast, it's still popular all across the Pacific.

Ohtani's interview (linked above) also offers not just his basic reasoning behind his top picks, but also his personal opinion of the players involved. So if you've ever wondered what he made of some of these top pitchers and hitters he's faced off against, give it a look to find out more!
