Unity-powered horror puzzler Dying: Sinner Escape will claw its way to iOS this week - Vita release remains a mystery

Some things in life were just made to go together like chocolate and peanut butter, pizza and beer, and horror puzzle games and creepy abandoned buildings.

For fans of the latter, the episodic Dying: Sinner Escape looks like a game in the same tradition of 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors, Saw, and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.

Sinner Escape's creator, Nekcom, reckons that it was created by "top Hollywood movie and game development talent" and that the focus will be on exploration and mystery.

Dying to play?

Details on Dying: Sinner Escape are still a bit light, owing to its slightly choppy announcement on the Touch Arcade Forums.

It's clear that it will use finger-gesture controls, and we also suspect that it will use different input options like a microphone and gyroscope to add a few extra dimensions to the puzzle solving.

Dying: Sinner Escape will follow an episodic content release schedule like a TV show, although it's not clear at this point how players are supposed to access new episodes.

The first episode of Dying: Sinner Escape - dubbed Last Hour - will launch on Saturday, May 25 for iOS. A Vita release is planned for later in the year.
