General tips: part two

If you're new to Dragon City then you've come to the right place. Here, we'll give you tips on how to spend gems wisely, recommend the best value IAPs, and take a look at the in-game events.

Spending gems wisely

Though you receive a few gems for free when you start Dragon City, they won't get you very far if you're a reckless spender.

Be patient and don't speed up every single process - particularly those that take a few seconds or minutes. Come back later instead and you can save yourself a lot of gems.

Do spend a few gems to recruit elves in the Dragon Market if you're short on resources, though - particularly if you don't have many friends playing. This is a cheap and effective means to giving your pool of resources a huge boost.

Recommended IAPs

Get the starter pack if you can afford it. You'll receive food, gold, a powerful pet dragon, a breeding ground, and a level boost - all for a fraction of the cost.

Keep an eye out for the regular offers as well. If you're finding yourself low on food or gold and an irresistible offer for that pops up, go for it.

Event participation

There are a ton of events throughout the year to participate in, and either reward you for popping back on certain days or require you to collect certain items, dragons, or complete quests to reap the rewards. Events are located in the special island in the centre of the map.

If there's an event on, don't ignore it. They're an excellent source of extra income, cheap rare dragons, and items you couldn't get otherwise.
