| Dragon City

Dragon City is an in-depth and feature-rich blend of strategy, dragon breeding, and turn-based combat.

As a result, it can be a bit overwhelming to new players - particularly those who aren't well acquainted with the genre.

Don't panic though! Pocket Gamer is here to assist you and we've come up with a list of three tips to help get you started.

Focus on your goals

This may seem obvious but we've experienced first-hand just how easy it can be to lose your way.

The goals, found at the top left of the screen, are a great remedy for that and ensure that you're always performing the most optimal task.

Completing a goal rewards you with XP and gold, essential for unlocking and purchasing new buildings, dragons, and upgrades.

Try and complete the goals in order but don't be afraid to skip ahead if your current goal is time-gated.

Gather your resources

If you're clever and patient with your resources you won't need to purchase too many gems.

First-off, ensure that all of your Habitats house at least one dragon to ensure that they're producing a steady stream of gold.

Secondly, build as many Farms as possible and get them constantly producing food to ensure that you have enough to level up the vast amount of dragons you'll have later in the game.

Get your friends involved

Friends can almost replace gems in Dragon City - provided you have enough of them playing.

Invite three friends to the game in the Tavern and, if they start playing, you get rewarded with a free special dragon.

You can then recruit these friends to perform roles for you in the Dragon Market and gain quick and easy access to a ton of gold and food in the process.

Finally, you can visit a friend's island to gather their resources for them, earning rewards for yourself as you do so.
